Swamiji always opined for the need for indigenous production mechanism for economic liberation of the country. He comments,
We need technical education and all else that may develop industries so that men, instead of seeking for service, may earn enough to provide for themselves, and save something against a rainy day. It would be better if the people got a little technical education, so that they might find work and earn their bread, instead of running from pillar to post and crying for service.
With an attempt to bring this vision to reality, Ramakrishna Math, Bolpur has planned to run a Tailoring Coaching Center to empower the poor women of the locality.
Salient features of VTC
- Duration of the course would be of one month.
- Classes would be held five days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Math premises.
- Needy and sincere women are encouraged to join the course.
- The Math is eager to support the trainees to earn their living by providing a market to sell their products in the post training period.
